7th Grade Initiative
Research has shown that 7th grade is a critical time in a child’s life, when he or she makes a choice on adopting healthy or unhealthy behaviors. In support of helping children to choose a healthy lifestyle, the Philadelphia Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA is offering free youth memberships to all students in the 7th grade.
Be part of something bigger!
A youth membership to any of the 15 YMCA branches will provide 7th graders with a safe environment and enable them to grow in spirit, mind and body. Specialized programs for teens initiate a healthy lifestyle and promote wellness across our neighborhoods. Pick up a schedule of monthly activities at the Member Services Desk of your branch or online!
Activate your free membership! Go to any branch of the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA with your parent and proof of 7th grade status (report card; class schedule; photo ID with school year listed). Parents need to complete the required membership paperwork and then you can enjoy all the YMCA has to offer. Youth membership is valid September 1, 2011 through May 31, 2012. (Some restrictions may apply; see branch for specific details).
